Personal Trainer Foods Challenge: Day 2
Day 2 of the Personal Trainer Foods Challenge — how the meals are holding up, energy levels, and whether the convenience is worth it.

Day 2 of the Personal Trainer Foods Challenge at Dexter Tenison Fitness, and I’m settling into the routine. No cooking, no meal prep, no decision fatigue about what to eat. Just grab, heat, eat.
Here’s how day 2 went.
Morning Energy
One thing I noticed immediately — I woke up with solid energy. Day 1’s clean eating carried over. No bloating from late-night snacking, no sugar crash from breakfast cereal. Just steady, clear-headed energy.
This is what happens when your nutrition is dialed in. Your body actually works the way it’s supposed to.
The Meals
Breakfast
Turkey bacon with eggs. Straightforward and filling. The turkey bacon had good flavor — not the rubbery kind you sometimes get from pre-packaged meals. Added some hot sauce from my own kitchen because that’s non-negotiable.
Lunch
Lemon herb chicken with green beans. Better than day 1’s lunch. The seasoning was on point and the portion kept me full for a solid three hours. For a pre-made meal, that’s impressive.
Dinner
Meatloaf with roasted vegetables. Now, I’m from Memphis — I know good food. This meatloaf wasn’t mama’s recipe, but it was genuinely tasty and held together well. The vegetables were roasted properly, not the mushy steamed version you’d expect from a delivery service.
Snack
Almonds and a small protein shake. Simple, effective, kept the hunger at bay between meals.
What I’m Noticing
- Zero cravings. When you eat enough protein and healthy fats, the sugar cravings disappear.
- No afternoon crash. Usually around 2 PM I want a nap. Not today.
- Simplicity. Not having to think about food freed up mental energy for other things.
The Honest Assessment So Far
Two days in and I understand why busy professionals love this kind of service. At Dexter Tenison Fitness, we still believe cooking your own meals gives you the most control. But this is a legitimate option for people who need a healthy bridge during hectic weeks.
